The number of Game Developers in the Netherlands is growing. Especially in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Eindhoven. Between 2015 and 2018 over 60 percent of new jobs in the gaming industry was based in one of those cities.
At the end of 2018, there were 107 companies with over 10 employees, in the Dutch gaming industry. In 2015 there were only 66. Globally, the gaming industry was worth more than 98 billion euro’s in 2019. Around 60 percent of that revenue, came from mobile gaming. And of that revenue, over 80% comes from free-to-play games. Games that only make money from in-game purchases.
